There's a big problem on this site that no one is talking about...

So we have all been pretty intrigued with the cheating scandals in the chess world lately, but something that I don't see being addressed here are all the "new" users and new account being constantly created here. I've been playing chess for a long time and I want to play people who are actually at my level. I don't want to play people who are actually 200-300 ELO higher than me. That's not what I want. I don't want to play provisional players. And so many people just start new accounts constantly and this site does nothing to combat that. Is it too much to ask for a filter for when accounts were created? Especially for paid memberships. Get it together chess.com.

I looked through your recent matches and didn't see any that were more than 75 points from your rating.  Most were within 50 points.

New users are a different matter.   You can set a minimum number of games played in Daily Chess.  However, that is not available in live chess. As I understand it, new players can't come in higher than 1800 now, so by the time they would get a chance to play you,  they would have to have completed a minimum number of games

You are right @Palumbo. I told Chess.com I was a 1200 when I'm really closer to an 800. I had a provisional 1287 rating from the USCF so that's what I gave them. Now my USCF classical rating is 1187. but I have another seventeen games to play to get a regular rating and I have to drive forty miles to play four games. I don't think Chess.com is at fault here. It's just the clueless users like me that give them bad estimates of their rating. Also a classical rating is different than a Chess.com rapid rating. Anyway, playing twenty-five rapid games on here should get me to whatever I actually am. It's just so hard grinding through it when you know you're going to lose every game. I apologize for my small contribution to this problem. Just settling in.

How do you know they're no more than 75 points from my ELO when the account was created "8 days ago" but they've most likely been playing for quite some time and can actually be 200-300 ELO higher than I am? The issue is easily solved: Give us the ability to filter by either games played (through live) or filter by join date.
