Do you see the plus symbol after the prior move? That means "check".
But then after that he could have taken the queen the move before I used the queen to checkmate

I'm playing dead tired right now. Made several extremely cavalier reckless moves He was punishing me for them. Badly. He was killing me. He was moving quickly and catching everything until... lol. The winning move. 3rd or 4th Hail Mary pass in a row and he missed the obvious and lost.
