so when the game analysis says a game was a throwaway. what does that technically mean?

One side was winning but they blundered and gave the other side a win.

It seems there is another message that actually says, 'one player was winning and then blundered it away', so a throwaway game must be a bit different

Maybe then it isn't just a blunder but a winning position that end up in an equal or lost position. I would have to see one that matches to see if it could mean something else.

I too have this doubt. Does " Throwaway" mean it is an unworthy game?

haha I agree - occasionally I feel that I played a great game and then it's labeled as throwaway....! such is life
