Thumbs up or down on tactics tasks? - Chess Forums

Hi, what are the "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" buttons good for when solving the tactics tasks. After a tactics task, something like "Theme: Double Towers" with the option to choose thumbs up or thumbs down often appears. Does this affect anything?

That was originally used to theme the puzzles and was a crowd sourced effort. I believe if a puzzle gets downvoted enough on a theme it will eventually lose that tag.

I know there are plans on cleaning up bad tags and that behavior will likely change when that work is completed.
