Tips for studying endgame?

I feel like there's a big hole in my knowledge of chess when it comes to endgames. In the opening and middle game I have an okay grasp of the fundamentals- well, as much as an 1150-1200 player can (I've gone through some of Silman's Reassess Your Chess book) and am able to make a plan based off of it, but in the endgame I feel clueless as to what I need to be doing to be able to win or even draw. I know some basic concepts, like King and Pawn vs King, Opposition, and some basic checkmates, like King and Queen or King and Rook, but other than that I don't really know anything about the endgame.

For instance, in my last rapid game, I had opposite color bishops and pawns. It was relatively even at first, but my opponent got a win against me because I had no idea how to break through or defend effectively.

I've looked at Silman's endgame book as well, but it has sections split into rating levels and recommends not to look at future sections until you reach a certain level. Should I ignore this and try to look through some of the higher level stuff? If not, what are some good books/sites that can teach me some basic endgames? Any help is appreciated.

Didn't Silman himself write something about it being okay to work ahead in the endgame book?

Yeah, but I think in his book it recommended only to work ahead by one rating level or so. I'll have to go back and check.

Well, anyway, if you decide to go farther, I won't report you to the authorities.

For exapmple: 1 rook and 3 pawns vs 1 rook and 2 pawns and etc. There are so many positions which is won or a draw if you know the technique. ONE wrong move with the king and your dead, you move the pawn too early-you loose or it`s a draw. I find it so hard, and I am really weak at it.

I hired a coach online who is working on endgame puzzles with me. I guess it will take some months, but in the end-I think it will really help alot.

Pawnpushes is often so hard to find because we haven`t trained our heads to even concider such moves. For example 4 pawns vs 4 pawns, you find the right push and it`s a win. Much of it is patterns.
