There have always been a few players who never bothered becoming titled despite a high enough rating. More likely it's the second account of a titled player. Yes, titled players are the exception to the rule. They're allowed a second account so they can work on opening prep anonymously. Of course if the account should dissappear and their name appear on the "dishonor roll" then we know why they're 2500...

Do Chess.com players have to signify their titles with a GM/IM/FM/NM/CM prefix before their names?
I noticed a 2500 player with no title prefix playing here, and don't see how anyone can be rated that high and not be titled.
