To play Chess is knowing yourself.. What is your play style?

I heard many times that "to play chess is knowing yourself", I'm not sure if that's true, but it seems to be.

I know that many of us we don't have a good level enought to have a solid style, but im sure that maybe some of us prefer to be agressive, or maybe to be more defensive, or balanced etc.. Im sure we feel more confortable if we play according to our essence.. so what is your play style?

I prefer to have unstoppable mating attacks and piece up endgames.

I need action or i get bored. Easily...

I prefer unbalanced positions.

Probably because I'm a bit unbalanced, myself.

I like to think of myself stylistically as "multidimensional."  At least part of me does.

I usually develop normally in the opening, then attack in the early midgame. After that I play passively if both sides are more or less equal in terms of material (if I'm up I want to create a solid position and wait for my opponent to make mistakes, and if I'm down I start playing defensively). But if either me or my opponent has a huge material advantage then I play aggressively (in the former situation because I can easily win, and in the latter because I have nothing to lose, and I need to increase the chances of my opponent making mistakes).

Nice point, macer, about being headed toward a loss -- it is "freeing," isn't it? 

Against a superior opponent (either superior in chess ability or superior on-the-board), aggressive play gives better chances than passive play.
