Your thread got hijacked by people with their own agendas. Unfortunately this seems to happen in every thread at some point or another. Occasionally it makes the thread more interesting but more often than not it degrades into nothing more than a duel of babbling egos.
Why don't the "babbling egos" involved duke it out on the chessboard, then, and leave the rest of us who are trying to be on-topic alone? :)

Anyway, this thread I started was useful because I got some examples of people who also started chess at their 20, 22, or so and also people who love chess but have not the enough time to practice, just like me. It's motivational because I don't feel like an extraordinary person.
I could simply quit chess but the fact is that I enjoy it too much to simply quit so I have not the option to quit and forget about chess.
My teacher is an IM and started at 16.
I am 53 and starded chess in February this year... so far so good :-)

snGus: I also start late to play chess. I start playing chess 22 yrs old. Before I do not like play chess, I like play checker. When I start play chess, every day I play with my friends, and read book. every articles, news and games of chess, I take and read, think and analyze the games. I also play to enjoy, but I also had beat IM , CM, and NM. Now I not active playing chess, just play through internet (because I'm very busy with my work). You can play with internet if you very busy.
