Mine is the Legal's Trap.

I would try 5...Nxe5 if I was black.

NM Dale is correct. In the Legal trap you must play h3 and only play NxE5 if the bishop backs up. This way if black plays ...NxE5 you can capture the bishop and be up a pawn. If you dont play h3 you are just gambling and hoping he doesnt take a free piece.

This is a nice trap against the Dutch.


I dont know how the game could continue after 2.... d5. Maybe 3.g4 or 3.Nc3/4.g4 like a wing gambit.

Anayway, Kortchnoi played 2.h3 http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1082507, so it should be good enough for blitz/rapid games. Unfortunately Korchoi missed the tricky move 5.Qd3 :)

I played it dozen of times and the success rate is pretty good :-)
