Trouble solving tactics when I don't know which theme it is

I completed studying all the tactical motifs and mating patterns and I can solve them easily when I know which theme it is but when I am solving mixed puzzles where I don't know what to look for then I have trouble finding them. When solving tactical puzzles I first check if my opponents king is in danger. Next i look if there is anything wrong with opponents pieces and finally I look for resources available in the position. When I am doing this sometimes I miss obvious moves as well. Also I can find a good move for myself in the game but completely miss opponents best response or move. Can anyone help me with this?

++ In a game you should also check the safety of your own king, of your own pieces and look for opponent's offensive and defensive resources.

It is mental discipline. You cannot let your guard down.

Thanks for the reminder! ll definitely work on maintaining that mental discipline throughout.

Hey, if you've got a bit of time, would you mind taking a look at a few of my recent games? I'd really appreciate your thoughts on where I'm going wrong and how I can get better.
