TT Scoring system

Anyone else getting p**ssed off with the scoring system ... I'm constantly getting 2 and 3 points for a succesful solution but 8 or 9 taken off for failure ... and no points awarded if I get the puzzle right because I have run out of time. I hover around the 1480 mark but a run of three losses and I start to plummet. Very frustrating.

Many threads on this, but you are correct the system is not helpful if you aim to develop good chess habits. There are better alternatives though...

Well Chess Tempo for one, what I use, but there are other trainers like CT Art or Chessimo, anything but Tactics Trainer.

Agree, TT scoring system is discouraging and only measures blitz skill. I use TTs that are elsewhere.

Is Chess Tempo a paid site?

u can use chess tempo t.t for free...U just need to make a free account... And u can do as many tactics as you want...

Broke 1500 ... whooopeee ... but now am scared to play on in case I hit the big slide ... shouldn't be this way ... I should know that if I take too long but still get it right I will at the very worst NOT lose points.

They call em chess tactics..Its under the training section...U can choose if u want blitz ,standard or mixed...I think u ll like the standard set...U can take ur time to solve the puzzle

You can play endless tactics on tempo even without an account if you don't want a rating.

I'm doing my absolute best to try and raise the average time of every puzzle I attempt.
