Two dumb questions...

1. What does N.N. stand for in the title of a game (as in Alekhime vs. N.N.)?  Does it mean "No Name" or something?

2. When both Kings long castle, does that side of the board become the Kingside?  I read an annotation that said White's Queenside attack will win.  But I didn't know which side was the Queenside because both Kings had long castled.

1. Yes, either that or N. Nonymous. Wink

2. No, it's still the queenside.

Doggy_Style

1. NN is shorthand for "Amateur" or "Anon".

2. No, the King-side is always the side on which the King starts.

Ok, thanks.  Maybe I'll start calling it the "a side" and the "h side" (as in a file and h file) to help other people like me who are easily confused.

It might be ''nomen nescio'' officially. I never checked. The others are right: The ''king's position'' is not always the kingside.
