I agree. I'm winning in a tournament. Several players I have beaten are unrated so I get nothing. Some games I play I can't see if they are rated unless I click the Details tab. Is there an easier way to check after you have quickjoined a match? It is definitely not effecient to play for "chess experience" because you can gain experience in a rated game as well. Why waste time. Just play a computer if you don't want rated. I feel the entire site should be rated games, no exception.
Unrated Online Game vs Unrated OTB Game

I respectfully disagree. While there are players who casually play and don't give the game their all when they see they are losing, there are other players that don't want the pressure at times and want to learn without worrying about their rank while playing. By the way, how can you ask for unrated games?
Does anyone agree that there is a big difference playing unrated games online and otb? Playing unrated games online, at times there is no thrill or satisfaction even if you win a game(because at times your opponent does not give his/her best effort). Playing unrated games, what is the thing your are fighting for? You can't say chess improvement, because at the back of your mind you know your opponent might not be giving his/her best. How can you say you improve if you know opponents don't give their best.
Now playing unrated otb games is different(even if there is no money involve.) For one you see your opponent, your ego will raise, there is more sense of urgency, you will not feel comfortable seeing the smile of your opponent beating you(would be worse if there are other people watching your game and you are losing), it feels good to to see the expression of your opponent as you beat him,and makes him feel there is nothing he can do as you crash him.
