uscf rating=? chess.com rating

Could anyone tell me what the USCF rating is approximately equal to in chess.com. Thanks in advance.

im rated almost 2000 in real life and my rating here is approx.1550

Most people use online chess sites to test and perfect new openings and practice short chess games, so most people on chess.com and other sites are underrated.

same question here I always be curious how much would be my chess strengh in real life, if you are 2000 with 1550 I would be 2229 with 1729 by the ruler of tree

There's no real comparison.  Different pool of players, different game conditions, and different play styles (not being as serious or focused for an internet game vs. an OTB tournament game, or using games here to try out openings you might not otherwise use) mean some people are rated "higher" here than their official rating and some are rated "lower" here.

If I had to guess I would say the blitz rating here is about 200 points underated from someones uscf rating.  The online chess is about 200 points over rated from their uscf rating.

But really if you want to know your uscf rating just go to a chess club and play.  Most towns have them.

Having read several dozen threads on the subject (Apparently now that I'm retired a certain masochistic streak is settling in),  I would draw the following conclusion: No one can tell for sure.  It seems that correspondence chess (online) ratings are inflated compared to USCF, standard ratings a little inflated, and chess.com blitz ratings actually a little lower than USCF.   Different groups of people mean no way of directly comparing though and I'm sure others have come to different conclusions.

I believe there is a cutoff. A lot of people on this site are rated much higher in real life. This is because chess.com attracts a higher amount of class B class A players. This means that the average player on chess.com is better than the average player in real life; however, there is a cut off point. There are also much better players in real life. There is a point to where if you are an expert, or good class A on chess.com, you will beat a majority of the players, meaning your rating will be much higher. In Essence, there is an event horizon of skill where you will be rated higher IRL than on chess.com until you hit the point where you will regularly beat class b and A players. Because of the lack of higher rated elite players, these above average chess.com players' scores will soar.

Hope that answers your question.

Outstanding feedback. Thank  you all.

This is a controversal subject, people play differently online than OTB a lot.

Some may play ALOT better online and be really high, while actually really low OTB.

While sometime's it's the opposite. The real trick is, NEVER, EVER judge any OTB rating with online blitz rating, only your standard rating. It usually should be within 200 point accurate to your USCF, whether it's 200 points more, and 200 points less, depends on the paticular person.

How do you know which side +/- 200 your on if you've never done OTB?
