How many of you use a board to do chess puzzles? I tried it and found myself taking significantly longer, and seeing fewer tactics than if I just used my laptop

I try playing OTB (over the board) with online match. I still lost.

I sometimes will set up puzzle positions on a board, especially more complex or deeper ones.

I do that only if I can't solve a puzzle from a book and that happens rarely. I never move the pieces while solving.

I've not had experience playing in person, so I'm attempting to translate my simplistic 2 dimensional pattern recognition to the real board. It's not going as well as I'd hoped
A puzzle book might be the way to go, any suggestions?
