There is a third option - change theme to using 3d pieces! Has anyone tried it, does i feel more similar to otb chess or 2d chess?

I want to be good at OTB so i'll go for the 3d pieces for a while, i like it so far.

It must be a bit messy and you'll lose some time. I personally don't have any problem to adapt from 2D to 3D and vice versa, probably because I've played OTB regularly too.
