Vacations

My question is: when does a vacation end? My opponent has been on vacation for several days.  His profile says he has been on line today, but our game is still showing as being on vacation. Not that he's short of time, I'm just curious as to how this works.

Vacation is just used to stop countdown on game time. He can be online every day during it, only when he unselect "I'm on vacation" box he will be on vacation.

This seems a trifle odd, since it appears to enable a player to use vacation time for analysis, but without his clock ticking. One might reasonably suggest that once a player logs on, that vacation should come to an end and time should start running again.

LOL...no offense but this is post #67,079,327,215,643,654,769,790,795,489,327,263,745,965 regarding vacation.  Soon to be followed by a reply about how people that use there vacation are wrong.

As your opponent is a free member, he will have a maximum 30 days vacation time. Then it would take him about 1.25 years to regain it. (I think it's about one day a fortnight, can't be sure though!)

Having now taken one, I realise that my comment about vacations is something of a red herring, as the vacation-taker has no access to pponents' moves until he/she formally resumes play.

You can look at games without logging in.
