Votechess rules - sharing opening database research

So, when playing a vote chess game, are we allowed to look at opening databases for the current position?
Yes.
Please, explain me, what will happen if I don't vote for a move in time? If I'm late. I'm a rookie in vote chess.
Suppose I joined a game, which has control 1 day per a move. Then I got away for 2 days without making a move. Can I go on playing this game once I return? Are there any sanctions on me or a team for missing proper time?

If nobody votes before the deadline, your team will lose on time.
If you don't vote but at least one person does, the game continues, and you can continue to comment and vote on future moves. There are no sanctions on your or the team.

Please let your teammates know in advance if you will miss a vote. Especially if the team is small. I've seen losses on time due to poor coordination of voting plans, and shrinking teams.

Apparently, 6 years later, there's new guidelines posted for other types of chess on chess.com (yay for that), but still nothing that addresses Votechess and the ability to discuss opening databases with a team.

What counts as cheating on Chess.com?
A lot of words get thrown around in talks about cheating, such as ‘outside assistance’ ‘tablebase’ and ‘engine,’ but what are the specific things that count as cheating on Chess.com?
Well, it’s a bit different depending on whether you are playing Live or Daily chess! See below for a breakdown of what is or isn’t allowed!
Daily Chess (days per move)
--The below are NOT ALLOWED--
Engines - You may not use any engines to analyse ongoing games! This includes Chessmaster, Fritz, Komodo, Houdini, Stockfish, Chessbase with any active UCI engine, etc.
Tablebases - Tablebases are chess databases that contain every possible move for endgames of up to 7 pieces. These sequences will always lead to a win when a win is possible, and are for that reason the same as asking an engine to analyse a position. Tablebases are not allowed!
Help from other people - You are not allowed to ask for help from another person! Do not ask anyone for advice on any of your ongoing games! Do not let anyone else play on your account!
Fixing game results - Arranging games, playing with multiple accounts or losing intentionally are also against the rules!
--The below are ALLOWED--
Books - You may consult chess books, lessons, or videos to search for a good move. These resources do not involve an engine that finds an answer for you, so are okay for Daily games!
Opening databases - You may look at opening databases, or game records to find a good move. You may NOT use any of these that also use an engine to evaluate the best moves!
The in-game self-analysis tool - You may use the self analysis tool to look at possible moves, and to set conditional moves. This is only available in Daily games!
Live Chess (bullet, blitz, rapid)

Help from other people - You may not ask for help from another person! Do not ask anyone for advice on specific ongoing games! Do not let anyone else play on your account!
Books, opening databases, or any outside help at all! - For Live games on Chess.com, if you are looking at anything other than the game in front of you, you shouldn’t be! Focus on your game, and play with your own mind and strength!
Fixing game results - Arranging games, playing with multiple accounts or losing intentionally are also against the rules!
Puzzle rush and Rated tactics
--The below are NOT ALLOWED--
Engines - You may not use any engines to help solve tactics! This includes Chessmaster, Fritz, Komodo, Houdini, Stockfish, Chessbase with any active UCI engine, etc.

Unrated Games, and Unrated Tactics
Unrated tactics, unrated games where both parties are aware that assistance is being used, and games against the computer personalities are the only exceptions to the above rules. Since these games and tactics are not rated, and do not affect the rating of any other players on the site, you are free to experiment with whatever tools, and learn however you choose!
However, as mentioned above, if you are going to use assistance against another person, you MUST let them know beforehand!

Vote Chess is a form of Daily chess, even though it can be played faster, and anything allowed in Daily should be allowed.

Well, I agree (and have for 6 years). But even adding a simple statement to this new article that a Votechess team has the same "alloweds" and "not alloweds" as Daily Chess would cement that viewpoint . It would not even require a new section added, just a mention in the Daily Chess section.

The only difference in the rules between vote chess and daily chess is the fact that it's a team game and therefore you can discuss with the team.
Vote chess doesn't get as much attention from the site, though, since so few people play it.

Yep, it could be a lot more popular with some TLC.
Follow-on...The original player that complained does not accept the new clarification and in fact reads it completely the opposite of the way it is intended. Surreal stuff ahead...be ready:
Just to reinforce what Martin said; the text highlighted in red above is incorrect.
Discussion of opening lines (the part in boldface green) includes who made the moves, when, what was the result, etc.
