Watch your f7 square

As Uncle Yermo says... "Good time of day to you, my chess friends.".  In this game, a Traxler Counter-Attack variation, we see the importance of always watching your f2/f7 square since it is a huge target for aggressive players.  Any analysis or commentary is welcome.

5.....Ke7 is main variation -- probably to be able to move the Rook to f8 instead of having it trapped.

6.....h6 is a loser ( my opinion), complete waste of time -- hitting your horse to where she wants to go anyway.

Simplest looks 11 Qxf6+,   gxf  12 d3  and White is Rook up

16 g3 is a great move !

10. Ng6+ is completely winning for white..

21. ... g6?? ( Nxe1!)

I saw that move and considered it, but my brain decided to gobble up the knight knowing that I would grant my opponent counterplay but still have a defendable position.

You missed also 21. ... Nxe1! instead of g6??

In the next move or two, it was still possible..

I saw that move and calculated this line, which Stockfish confirms is good... 21)  c3, Nxe1 22) Bd5, Qf2  23) Qg6+, Kd8 24) Qxg7.   The tension remains.

another prime example of exploiting the weakness of the f7 square
