world chess ran into a lot of criticism when they tried to monopolize the candidates tournament. they seemed to have learned their lesson and have adopted a much friendlier attitude about the wcc's.
that being that offer free access, allow competitors to have their own coverage and offer inexpensive 3d coverage for a minimal amount of money.
regarding the 3d option- some might see this as a gimmick but the idea is that they will simulate the view of being At the board as the WCC is fought.
instead I choose to see it in a very positive light. the access is inexpensive and visual would be interesting.

again. its looks like a good deal, and if I thought I could freely watch the world championship in real time- I might strongly consider paying for it. (cuz I think it looks like a good deal)
