Logically its probably steinitz. All world champions learn from their predecessors, so it's logical to think that the first world chess champion was perhaps the weakest.
Also whats with you riding karpov all the time? I swear every post you say karpov is the best, even if it has no relation to the topic.
Weakest World Champ
probably waffllemaster.
He was definitely the only world champ to eat waffles at the board in the middle of the game.
Probably Alekhine! He had to "fix" his games. Showing analysis instead of the played moves in his books! (Hübner proved it.)
If Euwe really was the weakest how could he win vs Alekhine?
*rofl* waffllemaster and the crumbs were on the board?
Euwe did beat alekhine, though he only held the championship for two years before alekine reclaimed it.
Tossup between steinitz and Euwe, Euwe is really cool imo so imma still go with steinitz

Because Alekhine was an alcohol addict and even drunk during the games.

there is no question about it. chessplayer and boxer is pretty cool and then on top teacher of girls, i mean how much cooler can it get?? but in chess strength i would consider him still the weakest.

That was because unlike other world champs of that era Euwe offered an immediate rematch to Alekhine.
Surely the world champion of losers chess variant is the weakest world champ
probably
Just to clarify: No World Champion was really "weak". And we always try to compare different eras ...

We all know Anatoly Karpov was the greatest chess player but when it comes to the weakest world champion it is hard to decide. What do you think?
