I find it reassuring. The fact that someone so many years ahead of most of us in hard work,study, and dedication still encounters players he simply cannot beat reminds me of the incredible depth of this game. Not to mention the fact that grandmasters are flawed human beings just like the rest of us.

Why run when you can learn from him?
The Philippines have some chess culture. Former President Marcos funded some high level tournaments back in Fischer's days to promote his country. Their teams in the Olympiads have often been strong since then.
