Wesley So just asserted his dominance over Hikaru Nakamura

How much of a weakie is Nakamura compared to the surprising strength of Wesley So?

Hikaru "I could easily beat Bobby Fischer" Nakamura just lost like a dog with White.
Discuss.

I'm a big fan of Nakamura, but he definitely lacks consistency. He's obviously one of the world's best at rapid and blitz. Maybe he just gets bored with the slower time control. Maybe he can't control his emotions during a slow game and starts thinking too much. Maybe his skill level is as high as it will ever go.

I thick a lot of people could beat him but I got the chance to play him he was super strong when I played him I won only once that says a lot about his chess game

Gamngai why on earth would you make such a claim?
You do realize that bullet is not real chess?

So?

MrFahrenKnight

He's more fun though. Not a boring player.

macer75

He was overconfident today, after having won the World Champion just a few weeks ago. He's going to settle down now, and get be back to normal strength in the following rounds.

I don't know, but I'm thinking perhaps Wesley So is actually the better chessplayer.
And going way out on a limb, maybe even Bobby Fischer was better than Hikaru. Is it possible?

It's hard to compare world champions from different eras, so I'm not sure about Fischer vs. Hikaru. I don't see how you could claim that Wesley is better than Hikaru though. Today's game is, after all, just one game.It wouldn't be wise to make any general conclusions on its basis alone.

Macer75 I am fully convinced that So is stronger, and have been of this opinion for some time, long before today's game. Hikaru gets distorted respect on this site over his bulletshyte prowess.

Nakamura has asian roots, he should represent the US on videogames, not on chess.

He's not even the Nezhmetdinov of our generation.

Nakamura sucks, I dont know why, I just hate him, I enjoy seeing him getting crushed.

As I already said, Asians should play videogames and easily excel at it, they should not play chess.

BronsteinPawn

Oh man, you gotta love this stereotypes.

Because of my flag everyone thinks I would capture on f5 with a pawn. LOL.

Will pdela ever come back? Did he kill himself? Or did one of his many wives kill him?

Wesley So and Hikaru Nakamura  are currently 15 points apart in the FIDE rating list. Hardly enough to get hysterical about. So has beaten Nakamura and Nakamura has beaten So.

They are currently (on the live rating list) 29.1 points apart - >  2803.2 - 2772.1 = 29.1
