The site has a specific definition of vacation abuse and unless they are using vacation to prolong a hopelessly lost position, you'll just have to wait for their moves.

The member only has two weeks of vacation left, but if you don't want to wait, you can report the game to staff.

Vacation time is a bad option that should be removed.
Play or quit, or don’t commit.
Vacation is what people use in a desperate attempt to avoid losing.
It should not be an option.

I agree, sometimes games would be delayed for months which is just annoying

I use vacation time rarely when I'm actually on vacation for like 3+ days and not bringing a device to play chess on

Well, if nothing ever happens to keep you away from chess.com, cool, but it does to others, like me, a couple of weeks ago, having guests then staying up half the night. C'est la vie. And I never do anything "in a desperate attempt to avoid losing". So I disagree.

If "no vacation" was an option for challenges, though, just as it is for tournaments, I wouldn't use it, but that'd be fine with me.

Arguably, it's too generous, I'm not sure. But that's not an issue for me since I don't really care if somone delays finishing a game.

I have a daily game right now where the person hasn’t moved and it says they have 2 months left of vacation. Who takes a vacation for that long? It should be shortened to a month at most. Or just eliminated. In this day and age how hard is it to open the phone app and make a move once a day while you are on the toilet in the hotel?

If you are only talking about one game, great. I have sometimes had enough ongoing daily games that it might take upwards of an hour to make a move in every one. Can I generally spend an hour a day playing chess? Yes. Can I guarantee there wil be no exceptions? No.
