I play the same patterns over and over again and an understanding of what I need to be somewhere 3 or 4 moves later allows me to make new moves that has jumped my chess rating up 200 points and still climbing. I'm in the position to take advantage of better positioning and missing less opportunities to capture material and get ahead. What early, middle or end game piece positioning has allowed you to best advance in your chess game? Setting you up best for middle and end game victories.
