I think as long as i played as hard, and as well i could, i have to believe i played a good game.
What do you consider a good game?

i believe a good game is when both players play very well dynamicly and out of nowhere the action starts, and after the dust settles there are only one player with good chances of winning, and then making that into a win.

its hard to tell what makes a good game.
I think in many cases a good game is a game well thought from both sides. both coming up with creative ways to win. Really try to think out of the box instead of making book moves.
A good game shouldn't necessarily be the best moves. An even better game than expected can sometimes come from a mistake by both sides.

I feel pride in my game. When I can imagine that my higher rated (2000+) opponent respected me as a player, and was impressed with my level of play, even if he won the game.
I hear him saying, "Great move" in a difficult position.

I consider a good game to be one in which one idea follows another to transform what was a miniscule advantage into an imposing position whose virtues prove decisive without any apparent effort on the part of the victor. These are the games in which one is left asking, "What was the decisive mistake?" "Why is White (Black) helpless after seemingly walking the path towards a draw?" "What did those seemingly innocuous moves accomplish?"
I also consider draws to be good, in the case that both sides played precisely in a complex position and made few if any errors. I believe chess to be a draw with best play, so fighting draws where no one missed a fairly straightforward winning blow are also good.

Three kinds of good games. [there are more]
One where both sides played well but then one wins without any apparent efffort on his part as per chessman1504 stated. At the end of the game it is hard to find where the losing side went wrong.
A game which is very hard fought but ends in an absolutely brilliant move.
Another is when everyone from master to grandmaster declares a game position is a "dead draw" "draw should be offered and accepted" but someone finds a way to play the position to an eventual win against tough opposition.
Those kinds of games are very interesting to watch or play.

...when playing you discover that your opponent is exactly yourself! Now you are forced to play yourself in essense, and learn how to counteract all that you usually give; in order to beat yourself. If in doing so this makes you figure out new stratergies, counter attacks or defenses, and you do happen to win, then it makes you feel like you have learned just a little more about the game, something about yourself, and the knowledge that you will always find yourself out there... that kind of a challenge is what I consider a good game.

Another interesting game is a game or position that ends in a draw but in a very unusual position. I've had a couple of those per chess.com.

A good game is a game with few mistakes.

How is it that we post on the same thread so often?
I don't know about you. But, for me, I consider a good game is when you played good, and the result is good aswell.
What's your consideration? :D
