a good brain exercise?
And I agree with richie and oprah, a very humbling experience.
Are we still on about this tattoo?! Okay, fine. He could have been lying, but does it really make that much difference to you in the end? Regardless of whether he has to tattoo or not? Phew. I think chess is like the granfather of the modern war games like Warhammer. I also agree with richie_and_oprah, very humbling.
My two biggest wastes of time:
chess, and civilization IV... play with caution!
The process of building a winning position is the fun part of both games, not actually playing through a winning position.
Love/hate relationship. Love it when I win, hate it when I lose.
I think I should play a lot more of it to get good. I think I should play a lot less of it to stop wasting time better spent on "useful" pursuits.
I think it strengthens my brain. But Scotch weakens it. And I like to sip a Scotch while playing. A zero sum game.
I love to buy chess books, but then I feel guilty when I don't study them.
People think I'm really smart when they hear that chess is my main hobby. But they also think it's a LOT more geeky and strange than football, cooking, poker, or deer hunting.
But all that is OK. It's fun, and it keeps me out of the strip clubs.
Ok, no trolls PLEASE , not this time. Well, however, I think chess is a brain- devoloping game.
