What ever happened to focus mode?

I came online a couple minutes ago to find out that they had replaced the actually useful focus mode with a new, seemingly useless "dark mode". Playing just doesn't feel right without focus, so if anyone knows how to use focus mode now I'd really appreciate it, thanks!
