What got you into chess?

Curiosity, it looked interesting.

I was really bored one day and decided I needed a new hobby. Didn't know what I was getting myself into at all. But, I'm definitely better at chess than the average person now, so there's something good out of it. Sometimes I look back at how I played before I became serious about it and shudder at the thought that I was really that bad. No joke, I played like Martin. Lol

Once when I was just a child as I am playing with my neighbors, I saw 2 people playing chess. I don't understand that time why they are staring too much in a board without getting bored. Then as I grew older, I tried to play the game. I finally understood that chess is complex.
