It's a crutch. Don't need to work hard or study much...and forget blunders. You play these guys without using a database, you'll be at a major disadvantage. It's like being in a fight but the other guy has brass knuckles.
Databases really only help you open well. The hard work, studying, and blunders are still in the main part of chess, the middle and endgame. As you use them you get to understand and know more and more good opening moves so it actually helps you advance in that part of the game, at least for me.

Coming from someone who's blocked me, yet who continues to send me provocative messages despite my inability to respond this seems a rather hypocritical charge.

I have learned that nobody likes my poetry. Also that there are plenty of better chess players here. Also that the internet is full of amazing pictures, half of which echecs has posted.

I have learned that alot of players here disregard gambits as bad openings meant only for 1400 players and that they have no part of 1800+ play. I think this is hogwash and I hope to someday meet them in OTB play and prove them wrong.
i've learned that quite a few people are obssessed with chess.com points...especially other members' points.

I don't even read posts claiming refutations. I've seen stuff like the Caro Kan refuted and the Latvian refuted and this and that, don't buy any of it.
which is why you're username is "2200ismygoal" ! You haven't refuted the obvious therefore you aren't 2200. You stand refuted as well.

I've never seen any of your poetry, but just anecdotally limericks seem more popular here. Maybe because they have a finite length?
I admit it - I like things short because I have a short... what were we talking about??
