If you want to get a higher blitz rating, try keeping all your pieces guarded, and waiting for your opponent to blunder. It will probably take you up 100 points in a few weeks.
Avoiding your own blunders, and spotting your opponents' are what it's all about up to around 1500 (that's where I am and have been for about 4 years). After that, you need to be quite good I think, and not as lazy as me.
The_Con_Artist, I agree and disagree. Rating is a bit of science. At least in the sense that the formula is designed so there is a known probability of winning/loosing based on your rating. For example the player who is 200 higher should score 76% of time, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system.
As it is just a probability, it can happen that 2000 player beets 2100 player 10 times in a row. It is very unlikely that 1500 player beets 2500 player 10 times in a row, but still there is a very small chance.
I agree that ratings are overrated, but it is also a good indicator of your personal progress. If your rating goes up, your training plan seems to be good. Bullet and standard ratings are not very comparable, still 2000+ standard chess players tend to be good in blitz and bullet too.

Maybe I should re-evaluate how the correlation between poor connection, lag and lose on time, force to premove (no depth analyse), blunders, force to resign or mate that causing my bullet-ratings fluctuate.
Yeah,, I knew that I have severe lag based on PING test (Test of Packet INternet Groper). Just an information, A ping test determines whether your computer can communicate with another computer over the network. Then, if network communication is established, ping tests also determine the connection latency (technical term for delay) between the two computers.
Lag issues makes an anomaly. A player who has severe lag couldn’t think deeply, forced to premove because his time alert. But the opponent who has an excellent connection could play with better quick analyse (no lag), use premove better, he doesn’t fear about time. It’s all about an imbalance advantage!!!
