What is ment by Glicko RD ..
Hiya Mayher hope your well my friend I think its a way of working our what your rating is to be, but to be honest I dont fully understand it, im sorry, John
...thanks dear Puroi for the link ..i see that it is discussed before ... i will take some time to understand it clearly ...many thanks for your help..
Glicko = the rating system used here on Chess.com
RD = the rating deviation
The rating deviation determines how reliable your current grade is. If you have not played very many games then your RD is high because the information known about how good (or bad) you are is limited. As you play more games your rating becomes easier to calculate with a high degree of reliability and you therefore have a lower RD.
If there is one criticism I have of the system used here on Chess.com it's that I think ratings alter by far too many points. I know it's exactly the same system as used in the OTB method but the difference here is the time taken to complete a game and the number of games that can be played simultaneously. These factors have an influence over it and your rating should never adjust by more than 50 points based on a single game imo.
