I honestly got destroyed by them easily. 1400 rated players actually 2800. Here is my statement. If I am 1000 as 2500 who beats Gothamchess, that’s it. I don’t want to be reported if that happens.
people destroyed the rating system.

I understand "sandbagging" to be when someone seeks out lower-rated/weaker opponents simply in order to increase their own win total/rating --- it's not necessarily cheating but more a question of sportsmanship.
Sandbagging is purposely decreasing rating. Not sure there is a term for that.
The term is smurf.
I went through all the comments. Still couldnt figure out WHY anyone would ever sandbag. Whats the fun in beating a lower rated player. Unless winning tournaments pay you money. I simply feel its boring to defeat a player that you know is very much lower rated than you.
Another thing that I have noticed recently is that I start a game with an opponent who is rated for example 1200. Then lets say I win that game. All of a sudden the rating of that player would be less than 1100. This doesnt make sense to me, I always thought this was sandbagging, but I was wrong. Attaching screenshot

The site uses the Glicko rating system which includes a measure of rating uncertainty called the rating deviation (RD) value. Players new to a pool have a high RD and will have large rating swings after games. As more games get played, and there's less uncertainty on the rating, that value drops and the rating will change less. RD can also increase with larger gaps in playing games.
I promised not to sandbag, however, 80 percent are doing that therefore ratings don’t exist today. Simply put, fake ratings exist today. Idk if this has anything to do with sandbagging

Most people don't sanbag but they might loose a game once in a while.
i play after taking my vyvanse in the morning and my rating goes up and then i play again at night after smoking weed and my rating goes way down and the computer thinks i'm sandbagging but im really trying my hardest...
ANY anonymous site is going to promote this style of play and then be corrupted because the waste of time will eventually become too much to even play on it. Like cheat codes on a video game.... sooner or later everyone there left is a cheat and no skill gets learned. Thn the game suffers. The point of this game is to learn strategies and skill but you almost cant filter through the jokers who watched a movie and think they are Magnus or Hikaru and just whip around the board like Qunts. Better off just playing through the bots and letting the rest be. Going somewhere and finding a human to play so if they are playing like a douche and trying to cheat.... you can knock em out and thats that. Anonymity gives qunts the benefit of not being knocked out.... so of course they act like qunts.

some people just like the initial dopamine rush of winning, no matter how special it really is
