Thank you ... Interestingly enough, I used google + your local directories for just that reason. Sadly, none of them (in the area I stayed) bothered to respond to a message/email...hence my post. :)
A question for members based in India, especially the metros.
Is there a viable chess club scene in India for adults ? The few weeks I spent in Chennai seemed to suggest that there a ton of coaching centers for kids but no place for an adult to walk in and have a few coffeehouse/casual games?
I googled for a few of them and tried to reach them. They either refused to respond to emails or did not pick up the phone to confirm their address.
Almost has me believing that the only adults who actively play are titled players fighting for norms in tournaments. Perhaps everyone else abandons the OTB game and possibly plays the game online? Is this notion of an adult who is about average in terms of skill but wants to play casual OTB games non-existent?
