Online? Like 2230 I think. Rated, that is. I’ve beaten probably higher rated players in club nights in otb blitz etc

Mine is embarrassingly low OTB
I can consistently draw with 2100s and a few 2200s and even get winning positions but always bottle it. I'm like arsenal OTB
So 2000 is my best :/

I know but I've gotten close to a big big win about 5 times now but it never actually happens

Drew a face-to-face game against Mikhail Tal back in 1988 in Saint John.

Damn emu didn’t know you were old like that - Tal even in a simul is beyond impressive, do you have the game saved??
I recently (nearly) managed a draw against GM Keith Arkell in a simul, but crucially I didn’t make it and he’s not even remotely close to Tal in talent (sorry Keith)

Online: several lower rated GMs in Blitz
On my old account i stole a couple blitz games from 2200ish NMs. On this account I beat a 2100 in blitz recently but I think he was drunk or something 😂

I turn 70 this year. That's one of the reasons that I don't play actively any more.
I have the game saved somewhere, but not at this address. I've moved house several times since the 1980's, including two 1,000+ km moves. The score-sheet is somewhere.
I bought the chess set from the simul organizer, right on the spot.
My "Tal" set is the only one I use.

I do not blame you for only using that one! Let me know if you ever find the scoresheet, I’d love to see how you managed a draw against the Magician

I think it's normal to have a bad tourney after not playing OTB for a while btw. I took a break for a bit and had the same thing happen
