What is the most Famous chess game in history?

One could argue this 18th century game is among the most well known:

Definitely the most famous game probably never played (at least as given).

It's sad actually. I got married and one day I was thinking about my high school days, and thought I'd touch base with an old friend from decades ago. I gave him the wonderful news, and asked if he had a girlfriend.. he said no. I asked if he ever dated.. . he said no.

So basically he's a 50 year old virgin that's never even tried to look for love.

For people that have never found a significant other, even if it's just a girlfriend or boyfriend, they can't understand the phrase "It's better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all."

Never married does not mean a virgin or to "never have loved at all".  Not married is niether sad nor hilarious.  Some would say fortunate!  

Its a game that doesn't get a lot of pub, but it does involve 2 of my favorite players.

There's have been loads of great games.  Great games aren't always famous and famous games aren't even necessarily "great" .
The title here says "most famous chess game in history."  That would be impossible to pinpoint, but there are many games that are well known by chess players for whatever reason.  A good example might be Steinitz vs. Curt von Bardeleben at Hastings in 1895.  Another game that may be well known (well known to me, but I can't determine its fame in general) but not "great" -it was a simul - because it was one sided (like many of Morphy's well known games) is:

I realize the title refers to history; be that as it may, the greatest game is likely yet to be played.

It says absolutely nothing about "greatest game."

Ok, read famous instead of greatest . . . Still to be played.

Not really sure why you brought up the topic of someone's virginity.  In an an ideal world, everybody would love to lose their virginity to someone they love. But the world isn't a safe place for many people. Plus many men seek prostitutes to relieve their sexual frustrations.

I was merely giving a story about a an old high school buddy of mind. Your the one that decided to derail the thread into something akin to a left at Albuequeqe.

You thought it was hilarious that a 64 year old never got married, and was giving context that I thought it was sad that a 50 year friend of mine never dated or got married. He's far too straight laced to jump into bed with a hooker.

You should give credit to the fact I was telling a story about a friend I know, rather than making general statements about the human population.

What it means is that is that a person's life, in it's entirety, is a far richer in experience if they've fallen in love at least once.

Obviously I have no idea if my friend is a virgin. It was more of a pop culture reference to the movie titled The Forty Year Old Virgin.
