What is the REAL difference between a 2000 player and the rest?

Yeah well, everyone is pitted against players of similar rating unless you change something in the options, but I didn't really try that. So, no matter how good you are, there is always a bigger fish out there. happy.png

Except if you are a super GM, that is. happy.png

As for the membership, if you become a CM, and you can prove your identity, you'll get diamond membership for life free of charge, if I am not mistaken. You should google search for details.

2200 is in the top 1%, are you sure? All I see are countless +2400-2500, I thought the average might have shifted a little. At least during tournaments I am among the seasoned intermediates at 2200, it really doesn't mean much anymore.

The reason is that you are at around #12,000 in the world. However, there are nearly 2 million users.

Colby doesn't have any positional skills.

He has trolling skills though.

And a VPN.

Which is impressive, because @asparagusic_acids you're probably older than him.

Because in  rated club tournaments many of the higher rated players don't play full games.

I remember some who were agreeing to use certain games from chess informant up to a certain number of moves where the position was equal and then play it out. this to make them look good in the ratings game. that was before the world of powerful computers but I imagine there are many scams going on these days too. Many GM's get the title and never defend unless they can hold on to it and many more simply conspire amongst themselves so as not to damage each other too bad. Not all but some especiually the pros where money is an object. Ever notice how many pre-arranged draws there are? Its no coincidence. simply elitist protectionism which is evident in all pro sports.

They should change the rankings so that to be a GM you need to have a much higher rating. IMO.

But I'm a cynic.

Not everyone is gifted with trolling skills, some like @pq8 and @colby never get caught. While inexperienced trolls get swiftly caught.

@p8q is just some dumb guy.

@colby puts some pathology into it tongue.png

@Colby's sole purpose in life is to troll.

Asparagusic_acids

@colby claims that @1_a31-0 is better than me, just to troll me.

llama44

@colby claims his dad is sexy in lingerie.

I mean, I wouldn't know, and I don't go for that stuff anyway.

Creeps me out if you want to know the truth.

To be honest I am surprised that his account is still open, probably because chess.com doesn't ban minor trolls(trolls that aren't obvious at first)

llama44

He's been muted multiple times at least.

You can be muted for minor offenses, e.g. using green text.
