what is it with people asking this stupid question ? ?

Not accepting rematch often shows your opponent,s fear to play against you

I always accept rematches no matter I win or lose the first game

sometimes I win the first game but I lose the other games. it doesn't matter for me. that shows my opponent is better than me and I am confessing about it

I don't try to don't lose in chess. I only try to learn as much as can from the game I am playing and not do the same mistakes again

That's rather presumptuous.

I am really disappointed of people who are not give a rematch as sometimes I move my turn by mistake and my finger touch in the wrong place where not I wanted to be but anyway I continue and asked for second match and always got declined... so not sportsmanship

Maybe their cat needs attention.  Maybe they have to go use the bathroom.  Maybe this was their last game and they just don't have time for another game.  Maybe the doorbell rang.  Maybe their phone rang.  Maybe their dinner is ready.  Maybe their favorite television show is about to start.  Maybe it's their bedtime.  Maybe they want to analyze the game they just played before starting another one.

Do you get the idea?  There could be hundreds of valid reasons why a person doesn't give you a rematch, none of which would be considered rude.

this is true

People are just saying that they decline your rematch. There is nothing wrong with that.

If you click Rematch faster than I click New Game and that game loading, I'll take the rematch.

one reason: they want to mix up their opponents, play many different people, instead of the same opponent again.

Hmm, a thread about rematches.

Laskersnephew

Thank goodness for this thread! I was beginning to worry that we stop at only 999 threads about rematches!

"I consider it rude to not give a rematch."

You're wrong

BlindThief

I never give them for one reason: cheaters. They’re out there. Randomness keeps my rating balanced by reducing the odds of cheaters. If I give a rematch, I am playing a non-random opponent at that point.

Besides, as I go up in rating, I’ll be playing in a smaller pool of competition, meaning that they will get their rematch in time. I’ve played one person three times, all random, and a number of people twice.

I know, right? The nerve of some people. Sheesh.

Because 999 is 666 upside down, and we can't have that.

Good point!

In my experience, the majority of people do give rematches.

Of course. And the vast majority of people don't get hysterical when their rematch offers are declined. But it's that highly excitable minority who lose their minds when they can't get a rematch who provide us with so much innocent amusement
