And force myself to play some d4 openings, reach to 1400 rating in 2016.

Nice idea, OnceUponaCheckmate, expanding the horizon. Good luck!

I resolve that when I do spend time on chess, I will do the activities that make me more fluent in the game. I want to be able to pick up a chess book and play through the game and variations as if I had a board in front of me.

that means I will get up at 5am instead of studying at 7 pm and I will sit on my hands until I see everything.

I will memorize a handful of great games - knowing not only the moves but the moves that weren't chosen so if I were called upon to teach a 1200 or a 2400 I could show them the game.

On the rare occasion I play otb, I will fear no one and only accept trivial draws.

Nimzo5... breathtaking ambition. Great! Go for it!!! Smile

Not accepting draws in tournament games before move 40 for any reason (unless it's absurd like K+R vs K+R).

This has been a problem area for me. Hopefully a rule will make it really easy, I won't even have to think about whether I'll accept or not.

Looks like an interesting film. Thank you. I guess one could say, "The chess pieces go back in the box." Good luck! Smile

Radical_Drift

I want to rejuvenate my somewhat dry style. I want to learn how to attack, though I don't want to get carried away looking for an attack that's not there.

Try to be the best I can as a "aggressive defender"

It's the style I like to play best

A simple resolution, Diakonia, but very powerful and very well said! Smile
