WHAT IS YOUR LIFETIME AVERAGE OF CHESS RESULTS--APPROXIMATELY

Example I lost the first 100 games I ever played [vs my dad] After those games--my lifetime average was zero %. Then I drew a game--so after that game my lifetime average for 101 games was approximately .00495%shock.png [not very good] But as I progressed in chess my lifetime average became higher.

Have now played thousands of games and have a new estimate for all the games I have ever played...

What's yours?  [note must have played at least a 1000 games]

My guess for Magnus is about 65%--when he first learned he lost some games and now he plays against tough competition.

My guess almost all players are 40% to 60% some higher and some lower. With an average close to 50%?

Average has to be 50%.

If you are above 50% then you play too weak opponents.
If you are below 50% then you play too strong opponents.

Average should be near 50% but there are many variables.  They must have played at least 1000 games is one variable.  The lower this limit--very probably the  lower this average? Correct me if I am wrong?

There are some people at extremes    ---  above 90% or below 10%.

tygxc   I agree or mostly agree but there are exceptions.  I am way above 50% but always try to play the strongest  players I can find--experts, masters, strong masters, grandmasters. Same for Magnus and most every GM.  Why?  because there is a shortage of very strong players.

Heck some players who have played at least 1000 games and try to play only experts and masters and GMs have a life time average of 95%.  And some players who have played at least 1000 games have a lifetime average of under 5%.tongue.png

[much easier to have under 5% than to have 95%.] tongue.png

My guess is many super GMs have a lifetime average of approximately 64%?
