What is your tactics rating?
1251 right now.....Interesting question, regardless of any award offer.......I find myself doing about 1-2 hours of tactics daily.I have leveled off my normal play and studies, for the summer,as my wife and I are busy, but I stay with tactics consistently.....Best to all!
You spent 1000 seconds on every problem???
That's why his nickname is "superchessmachine"
As of right now, somebody on this site somehow has a tactics rating of 10810.
To get 10810, you have to be good minimally 2400-2500 first! Then memorize those tactic puzzles around 2500 and finish quickly. So your tactic rating become 2800-3000. Above 3000 there are very few puzzles and there will always be repeat puzzles of 3000+. This way you get 5000-10000. It was the tricks told to me by tactics 4500+ player.
Chess.com has only 60,000+ puzzles and they never update since 10 years ago!! So in general every 100 rating bar has 2000 puzzles only!
@LouStule, I take my time on tactics problems. On one of my most recent ones, in fact, I took 22 minutes to get it completely right. Even so, the important thing is that you understand the ideas behind the tactics and apply it to your games. Speed in tactics comes with improvement in pattern recognition.
The rating system here and at chesstempo have gotten so ridiculous you can't measure your progress on either one. I stopped regularly doing problems here because of that but chesstempo has gotten just as ridiculous. Here's my rating at chesstempo since the beginning of 2017 and, while some variation is reasonable, the drop from 1809 to 1719 in the past two months is beyond ridiculous, with 15 point penalties now common on high-level problems where 3-5 points were usual before:
