That's my weakest part. I'm just moving furniture in the opening, usually losing in the middlegame.

I think patience is the hardest part for me.. I always tend to rush and not think through the possible situations surrounding my piece movement or my opponent's. sometimes seeing that piece rush across the screen to take one of your pieces just makes me want to rush to answer the capture...

Staying awake.

I'm too agressive when I play. And add in the fact that I put little time in analyzing and calculating possible variations--- what seems a great or winning move for me will actually lose me the game a few moves later.

But the title of the thread is "What is your weakest area of chess"

Since I'm only a 1000 rated how can I possibly be conisdered "strong." I always thought that when someone mentioned a "strong" player, that he was rated at least a 1600 or above.

My friends told me that I had a really bad habit of making unnecessary trades. "December, you gave him your good Knight in exchange for his Bishop that wasn't doing anything. Because of that, you helped him beat you!!"

Personally, I believe I need to improve in tactics. I recall playing the same opponent at the cafe, back-to-back, in which I allowed him to Royal Fork me with the Knight in both games!!

Thanks. Corrected. I also think exchanges are difficult to understand - when to exchange, when not to exchange, that is the question.

MrKornKid

My weakest are is the middle portion of the game.  As far as I can tell my openings arent too bad and I seem to do not bad in endgames, especially when my opponent makes a poor move.  Middle game is just bad news bears.

facewardmotion

overthinking a bad move, dismissing it, then settling for a worse one due to time concerns.

Ziggyblitz

Openings, middlegames, open positions, defending king side attacks.

I have a very limited range of openings and I don't know what any of them are called (or even if they have names!). My endgames are inefficient - I often get there, but not by the shortest route. Oh, my middlegames are not so hot either.

I often exchange just to make the position on the board less cluttered and easier for me to understand. Probably not good chess.

TheLastSupper

My weakness is losing a game, I once tried to lose a game but failed.

Well my openings are pretty ordinary, my middle game needs some work, and I'm really crap at the endgame. I'm not bad at doing puzzles, though.

My weakest part of chess is finding the right move in each position.

I have done this, except I usually dismiss good moves:
