What people call Internet Trolls/Etiquette/Chessmasters

I am sorry about the cynicism of this post, but, how many of the players on this website are just trolls and how can you know if you're playing a troll.  I'm sure I've been playing probably a majority of trolls, but, I lose anyway so it doesn't bother me.  I am mostly here to do my best and have a good time, and am not a good player at this point and that's fine.   I don't want to pay for the website upgrades and am sorry about that.  But, I may change my own etiquette in the future.  (I don't disable chat during the games sometimes and have a good time.)   It's a great website.     I would like to think though that I am playing beginner players like me too not just trolls.     Also, in an unrelated topic, what is the essence of being a chessmaster?

I don't know what people are doing to troll you but the best thing is to ignore it.

I looked though your games and you play a lot of games with people rated hundreds of points higher than you. It is well and fine to accept a challenging game but you have played several hundred games so your rating is probably pretty accurate and there is little point in trying to overcome such a large difference.

I noticed that you lost your last seven games on time.  Maybe you should try slower games. 3 minute is very fast.

I see you have also played 10 minutes. I only looked at one game but you got mated with 5 minutes left on the clock. It's hard to argue that that is better than losing on time in a more even position but it might be.

Thank you for the response and for looking at my games too!

I played some games with you and I think that you should have more time as notmtwain said. In three minutes you don't have enough time to think and you just do a move that seems right.

To know if someone is playing you a troll, just take some time and think about it.

Here is a really easy mate that works with most of the beginner players:

Try to remember any trolls you see and you will soon become a real chess master!

P.S. Remember that you don't need a premium account to seek some useful lesson (not everything but you can still see basic notions). You can see them in the learn section (Learn -> Lessons)
