What rapid rating is easy to achieve?

I just hit 1700. I played as a kid, but only started studying around a couple years ago. It seems like I'm always seeing people say they reached high ratings in a couple months. I know that having responsibilities (work, college, ect) slows chess improvement, but am I slow?

Nah, i think u are quite fast compared to average chess player. It took me years to reach 2000 rapid(mainly i got bored and busy with my studies)
Rapid is easy , compare to blitz

Don't believe what that guy says. Rapid is way harder because it requires real deep thinking, in the meanwhile in blitz it's mainly "who's faster". It's much harder to improve in rapid.

Your speed is around average. Don't compare it to mine….

If you think rapid is way harder, try bringing your blitz rating same as your rapid one.

If blitz is "who's faster" then all the bullet players would easily succeed in blitz.
It's like half half. Time plays a way too great role in blitz, which means that it's not quality chess.
