Best advice:  Let the other person win, he/she will anyway, lol.

Pre_VizsIa

Ready a room at the hotel chessifornia/such a lovely place, such a lovely place/you'll be put in your place.

BirdsDaWord

The best advice is when you cannot find anything to do, simply improve your position.  Useless aggression is not good!

BirdsDaWord

Hey troll, don't you have a bridge to be under?

I was playing long ago with no advice. But now the very best advice I can give is to try and play players who are higher rated than you and you will learn a lot from your games.

Hey, did Qxf1 get banned?

Don't play with Dirty Underwear, he's a cousin of mine, and he cheats.

Give up chess before it's too late.

best advice I got: stop reading and posting on threads that don't teach you anything and instead spend your time playing and studying chess.
Wait a minute... I think I just wasted some of my valuable time.

It sounds like me when I was playing guitar, I used to spend time on guitar forums reading about equipment, but of course, always with the guitar hanging around my neck.

AlCzervik

Haha! Yes! Reminds me of all the guys that ask my advice about golf. Only three out of hundreds have ever gone to the range with me to work on what are basic fixes after they ask. They'd rather buy new clubs. Great for the manufacturers. Bad for me if they're with the group in front of us.

Best advice:

If you must eat something before a game, at least take Beano and they'll be no gas.  Sorry this is a serious thread I shouldn't joke around.

KenyDurant

Always play with a plan, even if it's not a good plan.

"You should capture toward the center with pawns"
