what’s better knights or bishops

bishops are better scientifically because they can cover more squares than knights, meaning they are more valuable in endgames and when they don't have any pawns in their way. knights, of course, can jump over pieces and are the only piece that can move in an L shape, and can fork, but the bishop's range means that on average, it is the better piece. but their value also depends on the context of a situation, and since they are so close in value, they are worth 3 points each. so while bishops are more useful, they also look really ugly compared to knights and i personally like knights more.
