What's happened to the Chess Tactics Server?

Anyone got any idea what's happened to the chess tactics server? I keep getting a message saying "The connection has timed out" every time I try to find it. It's not been working for months now!

No, it's a different web-site, called the Chess tactics server: chess.emrald.net

A sad loss: that was a great resource. Shame it was not passed on to someone who could host it.

This is a surprise. I really enjoyed CTS.  I hope it doesn't disappear forever and there is a plan to bring it back.

It has been offline for at least six months.

Yes it was my secret practice place over then. Sad really , in the mean time I switched to chess tempo. Fortunately it does the same job !

It was fun and It helped me to remain sharp in over the board chess games, at least if I was actively involved , as the gains soon fade out if you practise less or not at all for a given period of time.

Yes, I agree with what all of you guys are saying it's really smart how you guys are going through this working together. I'm a 43-year-old man with 3 kids it just astonishes me when I see people that could be role models to my kid work together and figure out stuff like that. If any of you would like to tutor my kids on how to play simple and easy chess (just covering the basics). They would be very excited to learn new things about chess. Call (1-603-413-4124) to get more information and help my kids play chess.

PS. $70 for each session
