Everyone seems to talk about it but I don't understand what is meant by that. It seems that in the pro leagues it's all about position, but what is it in the first place? And how would you play in a "positional" way? Thanks, sorry if I sound dumb :D
Positional play is generally about putting pieces on the right squares so that they control and influence as much of the board as possible.
There is no direct threat to win material however with solid positional play tactics often occur later.
