What's the weirdest strategy you've ever seen/tried in chess?

I see funny things all the time, really.
One guy recently tried a mate in one trick on me ... and I wasnt paying attention in the moment and fell for it. 
Just didnt expect that to still happen at that level, I guess.

I had an almost 1100 player try to do the Scholar's Mate on me. I'm rather embarrassed to admit that he almost got some mileage out of it, but he eventually blundered his queen while trying to avoid a fork I didn't even see and resigned.

I once played someone who moved ALL their pawns up one row for no reason. (I won that game.)
