Pawn forks indeed exist and are the most painful of all, as the victim not only loses a piece, perhaps a major one including the queen, and just gets back a modest pawn as his/her booty.
Hmm now that i think about it... The pawn is probably my 2nd favorite piece. 1) can be promoted 2) painful forks 3) gotta love pawn mates 4) often over looked.

Definately, the knight! It's unpredictable, evasive & very strong if used correctly. The knight has been the supporting piece for many of the check-mates I've inflicted!

Queen. She dominates from the centre and can break the game wide open when used correctly. I usually swap queens early when I have the chance because it means I don't have to watch my back as much.
